NU-PACE Announces Academic Exchange Program for 2008/2009

The Nagoya University Program for Academic Exchange (NUPACE) has announced its academic exchange program for School Year 2008-2009 is now accepting applications for its Spring 2009 session. Deadline of application submission is 1 December 2008. Application forms may be downloaded from www.ecis.nagoya-u.ac.jp/nupace and all applicants are required to pre-register online for the program by accessing the NUPACE website.

The NUPACE is a short-term student exchange program established in February 1996 to provide opportunities for international students to study in Japan for four to 12 months. Its curriculum is flexible which consists of a wide range of courses in the student’s major field of study as well as Japanese language instruction and Japan area/intercultural studies. English is the medium of instruction. Students who are proficient in English or Japanese are eligible to register for any course offered to degree-seeking students at Nagoya University.

Limited scholarships that provide a monthly stipend, and a one-time study abroad allowance upon the scholar’s arrival at Nagoya University are available to qualified students. To qualify for NUPACE, a student must be sufficiently proficient in either English (TOEFL score of 530) or Japanese (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, level 1). He or she must also have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better on a 4.0 scale.
