Prof. Hattori Assumes Post as Dean of The NU Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences

Dr.  Shigeaki Hattori, Professor of the Forestry/Forestry Engineering, assumed the post of dean of the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, Nagoya University effective April 2008.  He succeeded Dr. Tsukasa Matsuda who was also President of the Asian Association of Agricultural Colleges and Universities (AAACU) during his time as dean of this Graduate School.

Dr. Hattori finished his Doctor of Agriculture degree at Nagoya University and has done a number of research studies, among which are on the formation of water and heat environment in forests, and on patents.  He is a member of the Japan Society of Hydrology and Water Resources; the Japanese Association of Hydrological Sciences; the Japanese Society of Soil Physics; and the Japanese Forestry Society.  He was awarded a prize of forestry for his achievements in the field from 1995 to 2004.
