Training on Horticultural Chain Management held at UPLB

The Post Harvest and Seed Sciences Division (PSSD) of the Crop Science Cluster, College of Agriculture of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) held the “Training of Trainers on Horticulture Chain Management for Asian Countries” on April 13-18 at the SEARCA Residence Hotel.
Twenty-three middle-level researchers, trainers and government officials directly involved in post handling of vegetables and fruits in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia attended the training. The training was funded by the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO).
The program aimed to enhance knowledge and skills on the application of different tools, technologies, approaches and requirements in post harvest management of horticulture crops. It discussed the importance of the fruit and vegetable sectors in generating income, alleviating poverty, securing food in the Asia-Pacific region, and principles and organizational practices in building efficient horticultural supply chains
